Mass Effect | Mind Flex

“Mind Flex is the kind of trio that doesn’t just make music-they form a whole ecosystem of sound. chace., ramon., and Francois Octave all rap, all flow, all deliver, and all bring their own edge to the table. But what makes them stand out isn’t just the individual skill-it’s how naturally they fuse together to create something larger than the sum of their parts.”

“This group doesn’t just share the mic-they build worlds together. chace. snaps with quick-witted lyricism, ramon. adds undeniable energy and character, and Francois Octave brings depth with his dynamic tone and signature presence. All three rappers are in their own right, but when they link up, it’s like three perspectives forming one complete vision. They shift effortlessly from trading bars to tag-teaming hooks, bouncing off each other with chemistry that feels both organic and explosive.”

Their genre-blending style-pulling from alt, hip hop, pop, and rock-feels instinctive, never forced. One moment they’re floating over synth-heavy production with melodic precision, the next they’re cutting through guitars with raw emotion and confident flows. The catchy hooks, often shared, are something special-catchy, unified, and built for replay.”

“Catch them live, and you’ll know exactly what the hype is about. A Mind Flex performance is one for the books-full of electricity, stage command, and a synergy that hits just as hard as the records. You’ll leave with the energy still buzzing in your chest… and most definitely their hooks stuck in your head.”

“Mind Flex is a testament to collaboration done right. In an era where many groups feel stitched together, these three move in sync like they’ve been at this for years. Their sound hits familiar notes but always lands with a fresh, exciting twist. Boston has a trio on its hands that’s not just in tune-they’re in formation, and they’re ready to leave their mark.” - Mass Effect

Vaynaland | Bloom Fest 24’

The joint celebration of buds and Boston music will feature sets from LS Camp and Edo. G, Malik Elijah, Najee Janey, Brandie Blaze, Rilla Force, Ishafromthe978, and DJ Fab, among many others. Mind Flex, a Quincy-based hip-hop collective who’s also performing, cultivated the festival alongside local music podcast Turntable Teachers and Boston apparel brand Vertu Ou Vice."

In addition to providing a platform for local artists, Bloom Fest also aims to shift the conversation about cannabis in a positive direction. Mike Scarfo, host and creator of Turntable Teachers, says it can be difficult to find environments that welcome discussions about the beneficial effects of cannabis use, especially with regards to mental health. He hopes Bloom Fest can strip away some of the stigma and create more space for similar events going forward.

“There’s sometimes even a reluctancy to talk about it given the negative historical connotations that come with cannabis,” Scarfo tells Vanyaland. “In working with like-minded people like Chace (of Mind Flex Records) and Jay Lally (of Vertu Ou Vice), we all agreed that utilizing the positivity of art and entertainment is always a great way to help build or rebuild a positive narrative around a movement you believe in.”. - Victoria Wasylak

Mind Flex & Turntable Teachers @ Exit Galleries

Exit Galleries in Allston, MA was the host of Turntable Teachers’ first show of the season, The Summer School Tour. The unbearable heat that day did not stop people from showing up to the sold-out show. It was a tight space that felt somewhat spacious, due to the art covering every inch of the wall, all created by Sam Fish. Turntable Teachers had the opportunity to collaborate with rap group, Mind Flex, to present the show, alongside sponsors Topo Chico and cannabis brand 1906, and sounds by the great DJ Whysham throughout the evening.

Rap collective, Mind Flex, went on stage, and owned it. Their presence throughout the room could be felt everywhere. It was contagious. Even before they got on stage, they were supporting their fellow artist friends, joining in on what music is all about: community. Mind Flex’s hard work and dedication could be seen once they got on stage. Their music was refreshing to listen to. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to any first time listener, so I, personally, consider myself lucky. - Orleany Herasme
